ABOUT US
Established in 1919, ZwartruggensHotel is an original landmark in the small farming community of Swartruggens , North West Province of South Africa. Under new management and in celebration of its centenary the name of the hotel was restored to its original spelling of Zwartruggens, a Dutch name for "black ridges". Major renovations and upgrades were completed in 2020 to transform this former cosy inn into a luxurious and upmarket 10 bedroom hotel without losing its former charm and authenticity.
Zwartruggens Hotel , still a popular gathering venue for the local community now offers travellers to and from the borders of Botswana and Namibia comfortable lodging, deliciously cooked meals and hospitality that is uniquely South African.
OUR ROOMS
To ensure our guests have a pleasant and relaxed stay, all 9 our double rooms have en-suite bathrooms, fitted with comfortable queen-size beds, air-conditioning, a selection of satellite TV channels, a mini-bar and complimentary coffee station. For that special occasion, enjoy a romantic evening in our honeymoon suite. Along with all the standard amenities, our suite is fitted with a king-size bed, private seating area and a corner bath.

CHOICES RESTAURANT
Choices is a fully licensed 40-seater restaurant located on the hotel premises that offers breakfast, lunch and dinner menus to cater for your culinary needs. Our menu offers a variety of breakfast options, light meals for the not so hungry, pizzas, salads and a selection of the best locally sourced meat expertly grilled to perfection. Select one of our fine wines off the wine menu to compliment your meal or order your favourite beverage from the ladies-bar. Kids are welcome , catering for the young ones with a variety of carefully selected 'kiddies meals'. Round off your meal with one of our deliciously homemade desserts.

LADIES BAR
As part of the major renovations conducted at the hotel, the Ladies Bar was revamped and transformed into a stylish venue where the local community gather regularly to catch-up and enjoy an ice-cold beverage. All the original memorabilia were saved and incorporated to retain the authenticity and cosy atmosphere the local patrons came to love and cherish. Come and support your favourite team during live sporting events while enjoying a meal or try one of our daily special offerings. Embracing our close-knit community, special events are organised once a month to be enjoyed by the whole family and where new friendships are formed.
CONFERENCE
CENTRE
The Conference Centre provides the perfect venue for hosting business conferences, corporate functions, training seminars, product launches and workshops. Able to accommodate up to 36 delegates, we offer a complimentary coffee/tea station and bottled water for each representative. Catering is provided for conferences and functions, ranging from snacks, light meals or platters to full buffet-style meals. Audio and video equipment is also available upon request.

AMENITIES
The hotel features a swimming pool for the exclusive use of hotel guests or private functions. Additional outdoor seating is provided where a meal or cold beverages can be enjoyed. Our Cocktail bar, equipped with indoor braai and pizza oven, is ideally located next to the swimming pool and available for private functions.
